• Salary: Tax free MONTHLY salary ranging from AED 12,300 to 20,400 (approx. US$3,349 – $5,554)
• Accommodation: Unfurnished Accommodation provided (depending on family size and availability)
• Furniture/Relocation allowance: AED 20,000 (approx. US$5,445). This is an one-time allowance
• Health Insurance: Comprehensive health plan covered for teacher, spouse and up to 3 children
• Flight Tickets: Initial trip from home country to UAE and repatriation tickets for teacher and family
• Vacation Flight Tickets: “Pre-determined” cash allowance provided towards flight tickets for summer vacations
• Summer vacation: Summer holidays and all national holidays
• Working Week: Sunday to Thursday (30 to 40 hours per week)
• School Timings: Generally 7 am to 1 pm OR 8 am to 2 pm
• Contract Length: Three years’ work contract
• End of service bonus: One month basic salary (for every year) at the end of the contract

• Benefits such as accommodation, health insurance, flight tickets/allowance etc. are entitled for entire family only if they are sponsored by teacher to live in U.A.E
• Family includes Teacher, spouse and up to 3 children below the age of 18 years
• The “Pre-determined” cash allowance towards annual vacation flight tickets is based on your home country location but is given as an allowance so teachers can use the money to decide their vacation destination
• Couple teachers working for ADEC will not receive double furniture allowance
• Professional Development sessions for Teachers are part of the ADEC program and could sometimes be held after school hours

Mandatory Teacher Requirements -

• Language Proficiency: English speaking fluency must be native or equivalent
• Qualification: Minimum Bachelor’s degree specializing/majoring in the subject/grades being taught
• Teaching License: Teacher must have a valid teaching license/qualification from home country
• Experience: Minimum two years recent full-time teaching experience in a school capacity

School Grade Levels and teaching model:

• Kindergarten Cycle (KG): Co-teaching model, collaborate with an Arabic medium teacher
• Cycle 1 (Grade 1 to Grade 5): Independent teaching
• Cycle 2 (Grade 6 to Grade 9): Independent teaching
• Cycle 3 (Grade 10 to Grade 12): Independent teaching

ADEC is a complete educational reform in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and not merely a group of schools, the placement of teachers can be across any of the above mentioned locations. Teachers are expected to be flexible with regards to their placement location. The ADEC team ensures to the best of their abilities to provide all socio-economical comforts to all teachers.

School Population:

School are broadly divided by Cycles but there are several ‘Multi-Cycle’ schools as well. Majority of the KG Cycle schools are co-ed while Cycle 1 could be co-ed or gender specific. Cycle 2 and 3 are gender specific schools.

The student population is roughly between 20 ~ 30 students per classroom.
